UbiDuo

Deaf Services Center has entered a partnership with SComm who manufactures and distributes the UbiDuo device to distribute the UbiDuo. This innovative communication device enables us to fill in the gaps of communication for deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people in all situations.

The UbiDuo is a portable, wireless, battery-powered, stand-alone communication device that facilitates simultaneous face to face communication by means of two displays and two keyboards.

Why did sComm pick that unique name for its flagship communication product? The name stems from the words "ubiquitous" and "duo" - ubiquitous because our desire is to see the device become available everywhere so that every deaf and hard of hearing person can have the opportunity to experience its benefits, and duo because one full unit is comprised of two halves which enables two people to have a face to face conversation.

This device is a great too for businesses and individual one and one conversations. It is another tool in tearing down communication barriers in addition to available services such as sign language interpreting services and C-Print services.

UbiDuo users have experienced a sense of freedom that only comes from cutting the tethers of reliance on a third party or on slow, cumbersome methods such as paper and pen in order to communicate with someone. With the UbiDuo, you can increase your independence and social interaction with other people.
